What is the dpa?
The Downtown Progress Association (dpa) replaced the Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ) in 2005. The dpa is a non-profit committee of downtown business owners who meet on a regular basis to discuss issues from snow clearing to downtown events, such as the Street Dance.
Our Objectives
- The dpa provides a meeting place for the consideration and discussion of matters affecting the interests of the Leduc downtown business community.
- To encourage, foster, and develop among its members recognition of preservation, vitality, and growth of the downtown core.
- To actively promote initiatives that stimulates the economic growth of the Leduc’s downtown core.
One of the dpa's latest goal is to provide the public with a comfortable shopping environment.
Did you know that the dpa has provided the following items over the last few years?
- The Summer Flower Program that provides the lush beautiful flowers you see downtown over the summer.
- The historic plaques on the light standards that connects us to our history.
- The decorative trees in the flower bins which adds some color during the cold winters not to mention all the snow clearing to make Main Street accessible and complete the multi-way from east to west.
- The annual Summer Street Dance
- The "Main Street" banners on the light standards which lines both sides of 50th street.
- 10,000+ LED lights on the downtown trees
- The member email broadcast communication system for fast business communication
With all of these projects we’ve maintained a consistent downtown theme from the flower bins, the benches, and
the lamp posts and we look forward to future growth.
